Tyga exhaust

Post by nc30 duck »

Has anyone got a fully tyga twin stack system fitted to an nc30?
I got a system recently and and having issues with fitting. It's hitting the swing arm in a few places on the rear cylinder pipes, I'm in the process of discussing with tyga, but just wondering if anyone had a system with any first hand experience of fitting?

Thanks,
Matt.

Hi there
i bought a tyga exhaust system with a single silencer and had the same problems but i found if put it together with exhaust sealant maniplulated with wedges into position and let the sealant go of it was fine and its been on for a couple of years and its still ok.

It's shit though isn't it!? You pay that much money and the thing should fit the bloody bike out of the box... We shouldn't have to force it to fit!

I fitted a single can exhaust this past winter and didn't consider the alignment a huge problem. Yea I had to tweak the fit a bit, but it was not that bad.

Mine initially looks ok. But the swing arm cannot travel through its full range of motion without hitting the left rear pipe. I have taken the spring off the shock to try it out and the swing arm hits the left rear pipe and moves the whole system up by about 5mm.

never tried it myself but does the swingarm ever move this much though in assembled state? after all the spring wil only compress so much, it might even hit the stock system without shock

Fitted my single can system, and clearance looked like it would foul the rear left pipe. I was concerned enough to mail Gavin. Tweaked it sufficiently to give the max clearance, and so far, touchwood, it hasn't fouled. I haven't jumped the bike though.
Maybe it helps that I have an after market shock with the spring set for my weight, if it was the soft original shock, the swing arm would probably travel more, and may cause a problem.
Stick at it, the bike is transformed with this system, it is a great improvement.

Thanks for the replies guys. I have been in touch with Gavin and he has forwarded my message to tyga. If I push the pipe up to give clearance to the swing arm the collector then hits the other side of the swing arm by the kick stand. If I pull it back to clear the chain and swing arm in the left hand side then it further reduces the clearance to the swing arm by the shock.

The shock is a Nitron with correct spring for my weight.

I don't suppose any of you are in the south of England?

change of subject but what jetting and needle position[washers] did you end up settling for after fitting the exhaust.
