I have a 1995 NC29 and it only has 380km on it. The fork lowers and sliders are pitted and I'd like to replace them with brand now NOS stuff. I'm in the states. Where can I buy this stuff? What other bikes used the same parts? We did't get the NC29 here in the states but we did get the CB-1. Are the forks the same on both bikes?

I do live in Seattle and I checked DSS already and their website says they don't have the parts. Maybe I'll email them. I don't mind expensive if the parts are brand new.

Wow, your bike looks very clean. How about a re-chrome and referb of the forks, the lowers can be cleaned and polished or once cleaned a little dilute acid will take any polished surface off and will give that satin new look, then you can laquer to suit. Im sure it would be just as good and maybe even cheaper than new parts.

I don't know anybody in the states that can replicate the stock finish on the fork lowers. Having the tubes re-chromed is $500 at the only place I know that can do fork tube chrome. I need other parts too. A bunch of stuff aged, I imagine because the bike was not stored in the best place while in Japan.

Not exactly cheap, but you can get aftermarket fork stanchions, often these are made in Italy (I don't know why that industry is located only there!). See: http://racetech.com/page/title/FTNK%20Fork%20Tubes

Only the R model NC29 (Frame Number NC29-11...) had cartridge forks (which usually have different stanchions than damping-rod forks), so you need to be careful when ordering replacement tubes. Or just do a fork/triples swap!

Hi have you tried Tarrozzi for fork stanchions , just a little bit more than re-chrome, but I would check the length out , they had some for my NC23 which seemed 8mm shorter than spec, these are from a british site but i'm sure that there must be an outlet in USA
