CBR600F3 forks into a NC30 fork legs

Hello all.

I have an early (1989) model NC30 race bike. It still has the original forks. I have not been able to find a late model cartridge type to swap over. The bike is a historic race bike so everything must be period. I can't put new USD forks into it.

I have noticed that CBR600s have 41mm forks. In 94 it looks like they were updated to compression and rebound damping adjustments like the NC30 was in 1990.

Does anyone know or has anyone successfully swapped the fork tubes and internals from the CBR600 into the 1989 NC30 fork leg lowers?

Thanks

Not aware of any model of NC30 that has compression and rebound damping adjustment. Only know of version with spring preload and rebound adjustment. Early CBR600 had only preload and rebound adjustment and thus closest to late model NC30. Anything with independent compression and rebound adjustments is going to be a major engineering challenge.

What is the issue with the forks you have. If you must have adjustable, why not cartridge emulators.

I think you have to go to the F4i (43mm) to get compression adjusters; earlier forks only had rebound (and preload).

Ciao,

Thanks JZH, you're right. I think Magg's idea of the catridge emulators may be the best for now.
