I've been looking into getting some H beam rods made for my YZF / FZR 660 build. The reason being I want to use the thundercats rev limit and not the 11,000 of the fzr.
I have contacted Maxspeeding about a batch and they can make them but in a minimum order of 12.They would be $120 usd per rod so depending on exchange rates they could be about a third of the price of carrillo's

I plan on them being a copy of the FZs600 5dm rods so that no spacer plate is needed.

What I would like to know is if anyone else wants a set.I'm happy to have 2 but 3 sets is a bit ott.

Let me know if there is any interest and I'll get the ball rolling.
Mark.

How about speaking to JE Pistons ? The have a pattern for a 1mm oversize 400 3tj piston maybe they could do a 600 high compression version

Hi Boris,I want to take the crank route as it's easy to do and easy to get spares if it goes wrong.I'm going to build it anyway and see how far I can push the standard rods if no takers. The downside of working on a cheap bike is that fancy parts still cost.

Hi Mark
Hmmm. What weight is a Fazer piston compared to the T'cat ... I doubt they'll be to much difference but it might be helpful. Measure the T'Cat rods and weigh them, if they're in the same ballpark I'd assume the design is common and therefore the Fazer rods are therefore as strong. The Fazer rods will be slightly heavier due to their length, you could divide both by the length from big to small end to get a relative density for comparison
