I know cosmetically they are different but are the inner interchangeable?
Or do vtec discs differ from the other models?

I can answer this now, the vtecs have different discs that are more like VFR/RVF discs, the bolt spacing is wider and the centre is smaller

Cheers Rory, I didn't know the fronts were different. I believe the back 240mm is the same as a CB-1's, as I had fun searching for a matching fitment when rebuilding my rear brake.

I have a set of ebc discs from an early CB400SF and they where never fitting on.
I tried an old RVF disc I have and it looked like it was going to fit but I wasn't sure of the offset, so this sent me on a 4hr internet search to find out is there an aftermarket disc company that lists discs for a vtec/NC30/NC29/NC35. I even added firestorm to the list as I thought the front wheel looked similar to a firestorm wheel and firestorm discs fit NC30/NC29/NC35 So in my head it was all making sense....

..and there was me thinking some 400 grey bikes were rare enough already... Any joy with a match? I know I had to partake in quite a bit of research to get some rear brake caliper seals not too long ago.

I hope so.
After not finding anything out on UK sites I tried Japan and found this
http://page22.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/a ... l328970819
To try and reaffirm this I contacted a racer who used to race one of these and he told me he fitted CBR600 discs and that VFR/RVF discs fit also..
I'm trying to source a set of VFR/RVF discs to try this out

I checked the part numbers, and they're no help at all. Both VTEC discs are MCE ("MCE" being the PCN for the NC39 SF HyperVTEC models) parts not shared by any other bikes as far as I can tell. The axle should be 20mm, as they take 6004 bearings, though.
But the discs could (and very likely are) be the same in OD, PCD and offset as some of the other Hondas. The difference could be like the NC30 vs the bigger bikes using the same size discs: more holes!
Ciao,

would this site help in your quest for the right size discs?
http://metalgear.com.au/
I know I used it one time to check to see what I could fit to my 29, as some blade discs were on ebay new and cheap (SC33), I bought them but have yet to fit them but going by that site i persume they will fit, time will tell.

Should be working now but on further investigation they are a different part number for the vtec, where as the cbr/rvf share the same part number.
