Nearly finished assembling my carbs but haven't finished putting the air screw and I need fuel line.
What size diameter fuel line do I need?
And just any general tips for setting up carbs

8mm line.
- Use new float bowl gaskets + hopefully you've put in a new o ring kit (available from the helpful boys on the forum)
- set your pilot screws 1 1/2 turns out, you can fine tune them from there once you have the bike warmed up and idling.
- Set your floats as the book.
- Use an inline filter unless your tank is spotless (the pilots always block if there is crud floating about)
- make sure they don't overflow before riding
- replace the crap float bowl screws with allen heads.

Bought the whole rebuild kits from Litetech.
Donor carbs I bought came with Allen head screws.
I found it difficult to fit the pilot screw springs in for some reason.
I'll order some fuel line and filter tonight and fingers crossed I can start the bike for the first time, bought it as a none runner early December.

The pilot screw springs should be an easy fit over the mixture screws. Easier way to install is assemble mixture screw, spring, washer and o ring as one, and then install into the carb from the bottom.
Forgot to say balance them, and ideally do your valve clearances, as they need adjusting often on the gsxr400 and if left will at best cause lumpy idle.
