Long time reader from Australia, first time poster.

I took delivery of my Rvf400 today and I absolutely love it.

One thing I noticed is that it has an NC30 shock with remote res. I have searched the forum but havnt found a great deal of info on this.

Is the NC30 shock an upgrade over the stock NC35?
Does it need to be resprung to work properly with the different linkage ratios?
I understand that the nc30 shock is rebuildable whereas the nc35s isn't, when making the change is there anything that needs to be changed to work better with with the rvf? (valving, spring rate, oil etc.)

I am glad that it has the rebuildable shock as I can get it sorted when I get the front done but any information or advice would be greatly appreciated

Shocks are changable but the dogbones should be changed too as the lenths are different to allow the ride height with the 17" rear.

Same if you put the nc35 wheel on the NC30.

NC30 shock is way better than the NC35 shock.

Stock NC30 link - 113mm
Stock NC35 link - 109mm = around +18mm rear ride height
RO jackup link - 105mm = around + 36mm rear ride height


here is some info from Rick oliver on the link length distance, if you measure your shocks dogbone length you will see if it has an nc35 link on the nc30 shock, if for somereason it doesnt then the rear will be too low, otherwise it should be fine.
