Hello!

A) would FZR600 3HE 3HF Tankcover fit 3EN1?

B) Does all FZR400 tank cover fit the same for all FZR400 models?

Thanks!

Hi,
Honestly couldn't say about the 600 cover-it probably has the same 2 lugs at the front?! As for the 400's they also have the 2 lugs at the front (apart from the 2TK-it's a strap) after that they differ slightly from model to model (the later 3TJ is a proper tank). The genesis is plastic, the 3EN1 & 2 are metal, the 3EN2 has two lugs on the side of the cover & slots for the side panels to locate to & a hole in the rear under the seat! You probably could modify most to fit-what's the problem with yours?? Hope this helps.
Regards.

Hello again, I think you asked this on an FZR group of Farcebook ?

Anyway my thinking for saying the 600 3HE was that the frame is similar to the 400 and that a shroud of a 600 would be much the same as the 400 too.

found this description message on ebay, not sure how true it is but sounded right .

"fzr600 tank cover which also suits fzr400 3en1/3en2. I was using this on my 3en1 fzr400. No cracks just some minor scratches. This cover is plastic, unlike the fzr400, and is therefore about 1-1.5kg lighter for those looking to reduce the bike's weight.

Postage prices are listed for Australia Post. I can probably send via a courier cheaper. Just send me your postcode AND suburb."

Won't suit a 3EN2...the seat won't cover the massive gap at the back of the tank cover.

Plastic covers are 2nd best to the metal ones.....the mounting lugs at the front become brittle with age unlike the
steel cover.

Don't know about a 3EN1 ...but the 600 3HE cover works a treat with a Genesis.

Plastic covers are Genesis aren't they ?

I've got a 3en2 cover, in black but it has the extra lugs which you'll probably need to cut off.
This shows the lower edge of a 3en2 cover and you can see the difference in the frame too

Yer... Genesis and 3HE are plastic.

It was more in reference to the seller in the ad. shitting up the benefits of plastic over metal.

I did not know until just reading this topic that 3EN1 covers were steel.

This is the gap on a 3HE cover;

Interesting :peace:

so is there any major pro & cons in having plastic vs steel?

Plastic definitely can shave off some weight, also steel may have to deal with rust issue down the road.... what else? :geek:
