Rubber chain rest

Post by bkk2009 »

Hey guys the cloth/rubber strip that wraps around the swingarm that the chain rests on came loose and was ripped in half by the chain. I can't seem to find the name of it and am not having any luck finding a replacement to buy. Any one know where I can buy one?

Where did you look?

its on the swingarm microfiche.

It's called a chain-slider, but i tried to buy a new one several years ago and they were discontiniued then. I think your only option is a 2nd hand one off a swingarm.

They shouldnt just come loose though, they are screwed in. Perhaps the chain was in bad adjustment and had been hitting it from too much slack and caused it to fail?

Or perhaps it was removed at some point and incorrectly tightened up
