buckets RR /SP

Post by enduro250 »

HI,
I am just working on my new 3TJ cylinder head. I have already changed the springs from RR to SP.
I know the SP buckets ar 2 g lighter then the RR's.
My question is, what is the difference?

I don't think it is the wall thickness; is it the height of them?
my RR buckets has a height of 17,8 mm.
Has anyone the possibility to measure the height of SP buckets?

the inside of the bucket is different, so a different size shim thickness is req, ;)

BDK will machine a set to SP spec. If memory serves me well it's 13.5g V 11.5g.

The height is the difference, all buckets are different in terms if thickness at the shim face, there is no specific difference here between RR & SP.

If you don't get any joy with BDK I will machine some for you at cost

Thanks
