1wg track bike speedo removal (solved)

Hi just wondering what the best way to do this.

Ive read some info but it seems to relate to the later models and not sure if its applicable to the 1wg's.

I've removed the speedo and took it apart and got the sensor circuit board separate so i can just plug it into the loom.

Is it just a case of leaving it as it is with the sensor plugged in and letting the bike think its doing 0mph? Or am i going to hit problems when the bike gets above the speed warning light range.

Cheers

UPDATE:

Took the bike out on track today and ran it with the sensor circuit board connected and just left it to do its thing with nothing in the sensor. Ran perfect right through the rev range up to near top speed which i'm guessing was above 180kph at least.

Is this a 3EN2 ?
The cdi needs to get a 0 mph signal from the speedo and then it needs to get another signal so it knows the bike is moving.

What you've done will make the cdi think the bike is on the stand at 0mph so it will restrict to 12.5k rpm in all gears

Thanks.
yes its a 3en2.
So would inserting something between the sensor and leaving it in there at all times be the solution i'm guessing?

You could insert a derestriction box into the loom like an M-Max. They're hard to find though.
