NC30 forks 'VS' NC35

Hi All,

I have a NC30 which is in need of new fork seals, I have stumbled across a set of NC35 upside-down forks completely rebuild for sale for about twice the price of rebuilding my existing forks.

My question is:

Is there any advantage to the upside-down vs standard other than the look?

Thanks in advance

Chris

no they are the same inside.

Rebuilding a set of stock NC30 forks is cheap and the way to go (unless they are the very early type forks, which are different inside)

If you want to spend money changing forks (RVF forks require more than just the forks, you need the headstock adapters too) then there are much better choices of both RWU and USD forks avaiable.

The later type forks work well with the bike and rebuilt with good springs and even a rick O kit they are quite capable, no point throwing more money on Forks until they become the weakest part of the bike.. if its a stock road / light track bike front are more than enough I find.

Common current thinking seems to be unless you can afford 675R ohlins or similar then don't bother with anything other than rebuilt late type NC30 forks.
Unless it's for the looks of course.

I'm sure the onlins from a 675 are a few mm bigger than the OE fitment forks

I believe you use RVF yokes with the 675R forks?

675 forks yes but not 675r. With the k tech kit the 675 forks are just as good as the onlins kitted r's

Your right. The Daytona 657R Ohlins are 2mm bigger (54mm) at the bottom yolk. The KYB forks on the standard 675 are 52mm on the bottom and fit directly in the RVF yokes.

I'd even say 675 forks with K-tech cartridges are much better than 675r ohlins.
