I keep reading about how 3TJ racebikes must have the oil ways drilled to avoid engine failure but is it really necessary if doing the odd trackday?

Not if it's is a road bike, but worth considering if it's track day bike, and recommended for race bikes. If the bikes going to live at high revs then it should be done but if it's going to be ridden around and with an occasional track day it should be ok
How's that

Ok good to know it wont explode from a bit of hard use, if i keep the bike which im still not decided on then it will get stripped down and the oil ways done at some point but were see how i get on with it at anglesey in may before making any decisions.
