NC30 jack-up kit

Hi,
I'm planning on shortly changing my tired shock for a Nitron and was considering putting in the Jack-up kit at the same time.
Has anyone any experience of the kit, does it complicate the installation of the new shock & what real benefits are achieved from it?
Any help appreciated.

Your Nitron migh well be longer than std already so why use a jack up it?

Unless you are also swapping to 17 inch wheels I would go for one at a time. The kit (I assume RVF linkage) is easy to install anytime you like..

Thanks CMSMJ1, I think I'll take your advice and leave it for the mo.
Is the Nitron longer than standard anyway, I thought it was a direct replacement?

If you are buying it from Rick Oliver then I would ask him for a 10mm loinger version but they may just be longer as std.

Swapping 2 things at one time is always a recipe for disaster as you cannot pin down the ipromvement to one thing.

Your bike will be miles better for a new shock however you look at it 8-)

the nitron shock is longer then standard and has its own ride hight adjuster so even if you did swap to 17inch wheel you will still be ok and wont need a jack up kit.

As Zak says, all the Nitrons I supply are custom built to your requirements but my normal spec is 10mm over stock so you don`t need the jackup kit and with extra adjustment available to compensate for a change of wheel size.

From my experience, I recommend using the RVF linkage when doing the 17" wheel swap.
it not only helps give the needed ride height changes, but makes the rear suspension more progressive.

FWIW, I ran, as do a couple of friends with VFR and 17" wheels, the RVF link (adds 15mm of ride height) and the shock at about 317mm, c-c. I think this is 12mm longer than stock (305mm)? Rick? It barley fits in at that length, so I'd expect a tight fit. at just 10mm longer than stock, it'll pop right in (again, with a RVF link).
also, this is with the triples down about 8mm and a 60 series front tire (dot race).
