Has anyone measured how long a fully charged battery lasts in a total loss system?

I am wondering if one battery would last all day during a trackday, iam guessing a total of4hrs riding at the max.

Or would it be better to change to another battery half way through just to make sure.

The battery might still run the bike on the last session but not as well as it could. It would be better to have a generator and run a charger to the battery while youre not using it, you can use tyre warmers too.
I assume you have a van / car trailer, some tracks will have an electric outlet (like a caravan) that you can use

Most people seem to put a charger on the battery between sessions with good results, you don't want a failing ignition system at 15000 rpm!.
Most tracks have power these days you just have to get there early to get a garage.

I think it might be best if i by a new battery, so i can change it over half way through the day, if i don't get a power supply then i would be screwed.

But of course i would take a charger with me just in case i do get a electrical supply.

On another note, do you get chargers that could be run off a car/van 12v supply?

Get a solar charger. It's not much, but at least it'd be tossing SOMETHING back into the battery between sessions if you're not near power otherwise.

As far as running a charger off a 12v supply, just get a small inverter. It's wasteful, going from 12v DC to 110/220v AC back to 12v DC but it's easy to plug in and use.

Why not just plug the Battery into the Cigarette Lighter / Aux Socket

Most people should have a spare plug from an old mobile phone

An inline fuse, some cable and 2 crocodile clips

If you're doing that you might as well put leads straight onto the car / van battery.
Just be careful you don't flat the main battery and not be able to start it.

Solar charger are absolutely useless in the UK.
We do not get sufficient direct sunlight for voltage production.
(Even the house roof ones).

Boris has the most efficient solution ( direct to battery with flying leads) especially as some cigarette lighter outputs will not supply power unless the car ignition is on.
