Just got back from the MOT on my newly rebuilt 3TJ

it failed on rear brake pad contamination, and I need a front parking or side light, only the rear lights up.

However, I need help with the steering, when on full lock both ways, it failed because of the fact that the riders hand can be trapped against the frame, it locks too much over

I can't see anything wrong, the stops on the bottom yoke are there, and it stops where it should do against the frame, but the stops are too far

the tester suggested to get someone who can alloy weld and put some "blobs" on the frame so the steering doesn't lock so far, if you get what I mean

Anyone have any thoughts?

I knew something was wrong when the switch gear hits against the frame too, it hits the start button/horn buttons

Clip on alignment/position ?

The clip ons are sitting below the top yoke as they should, they're not bent as far as I can tell, and there's only one position they can be on as its dictated by the allignment bolt in the top yoke, so im confused

The clipons are bent - it doesn't take a big drop to do this

Are they both too far or does it go further to one side? And are the clipons and or top yoke level when riding straight?

I've found the problem, the left clip on especially was bent. I've ordered two ones off ebay that look straight. I did try to whack the old ones but it made a hairline crack, didn't want it to snap when riding

I'll take it back to the tester once done, it will be a little better, but maybe not what he's expecting, in that case i'll take it somewhere else. because that's how it should be. The bike is hard to manoeuvre now let alone with shorter lock

I think they need to be heated then rolled to straighten them but I don't know.

Can the tube not be replaced separately ?

You would need to tap out the end for original bar end weights if used.

I seem to recall the fixing of the tube is by threads on the bar and hence not economically viable versus used items.

They're made as one piece, the bar is in cast aluminium so when they're bent they're bent
