After bit of advice regarding upgrading brakes on nc30. My callipers are sticking abit and feel totally pants . Ive read on old post on here about fitting sp1 callipers. Do these fit straight on nc30 without modifications front and rear ??. Is it worth doing?? I can get some original callipers cheap ? Or do u now of any other callipers that fit that dont cost the earth and improve braking performance.

You would get way more bang for bang from rebuilding the current ones. A set of rebuilt calipers with fresh seals, pistons (if required) fluid and pads will be much better than buying a tired set of SP1 calipers.

I have to use stock calipers and MC on my race bike and everything has been rebuilt on the last year. They are superb

I've always said this and advise against brake upgrades, especially when your budget concious as any second hand set of calipers could probably benefit from a seal overhaul, and this is all you have to do to the stock calipers which are really well matched to the bike.

Strip down and clean, new seals and OEM pads and rebuild of the brake master wouldnt go amiss either, will be able to stop on a pin :D

Ya, I have also wondered about the need I can load up the front brake until it starts locking so I can't understand the need for more or am I missing something

the oem brakes are hard as nails if they are serviced and working well. I have had the bigger calipers for ages though now and while I never really remembered not having enough brakes, we all know more is better?

Depends on application. For track, bigger brakes and m/c with braided hoses and good discs are far far better at stopping than brand new/freshly rebuilt standard items. Factor in the cost of new calipers, bracket, m/c and lines vs rebuilding standard brakes. If just for riding on the road, then rebuild the standard ones.

I ran Ducati Brembo's on my road NC30 and Aprilia Brembo's on my track NC30. I'm probably going to put Brembo's on my current (long term) track build just for the added stopping power.

Sp1 calipers on the front side can be fitted on an NC30 with brackets, Rick Oliver will be able to supply you these.
Worth it? Depends what you purposes are. For road like some other members on here I advice also to rebuild the standard ones and new seals all round first before splashing hard earned cash on Sp1 calipers since you will also need to change the m/c, and maybe new pads and maybe new brake lines....Brembo 65mm calipers require also bespoke brackets to fit on the front of an NC30, again ask Rick.

If money is no topic...and you fancy them...hell yeah. Why not.
