NC24 tank needed this time :(

I finally got the carbs from eBay to the mechanic and he started taking a look at the tank, and it looks like it's completely fecked.

Due to the condition of the tank and a previous repair to the underside, he isn't confident that the tank sealing chemicals won't damage the tank and ruin it's integrity, so he thinks it's best if we just get a new tank.

I'm looking on eBay for one, but would anyone have a spare NC24 tank in decent(ish) condition that they can sell (preferably with fuel tap)?

Colour isn't *too* important, but original red would be nice :)

I got one off eBay for £30, so I just went for that as i'm keen to get the bike back ASAP.

It's been over 6 weeks since it's went to the mechanic and it's just been one problem after another.

I guess that's just the chance you take when you buy a second hand bike mind.

What mechanic you taking it too?

What probs you had with the bike?

When I got my NC24, apart from a full service I had to change the waterpump, reg/rec, generator, rad cap and a few odds and ends (about £300)

Ohh and

Yeah - i'm after that one just now as the one I originally won was refunded a they now claim it's not a VFR tank and have no idea what it is :(

Originally the bike was pissing fuel out the side and revving wildly, so I had the mechanic come pick it up. He said (I think) the intake valve seal was gone, so he had to order a new one from Honda.

Once it arrived he had a look at the carbs and there was a huge pile of crab at the bottom of them - some sort of sand or sediment of some sort and after clearing it, the needle valve was gone and as they were quite hard to get, I eventually just got a new set of carbs off eBay (only £40).

So, once they arrived and he fitted them he discovered that the fuel tap was pretty degraded and again had the sediment in it, same with the bottom of the tank and he wasn't very confident trying to seal the rust in with chemicals due to the condition it was on, plus with the cost for labour for getting the fuel filter out and giving it a clean, it would work out cheaper with just a new fuel tank and fuel tap.

So, i'm hopefully going to be able to get that tank off eBay but I still need a fuel tap. I'm having a look out for them on eBay but does anyone know any alternate source for one?
