EBC prolites vs stock

Post by Bike_Nut »

I now have a 3" magtek front for my lightweight track bike. I have both ebc and standard disks and the prolites weigh a fair bit more - are they worth the extra weight? The hassle with them rusting also puts me off but they do suit a race bike so feedback would be welcomed

I have prolites on my dry wheels for my race bike. The newer stainless ones don't rust and have been pretty good having done pretty well a full season with no warping or noticable wear. Are yours the newer ones or the old ones? My mate uses the old style ones that rust to race and has had no issues with them.

Mine are early ones and rust easily. My bike got wet once on the trailer and they rusted under the pads so they pulse at low speed braking but on the track they are fine, and I take more care now.

They are now fitted
