NC30-poorly generator?

Evening all- please forgive any facepalm moments as electricity is not my strong point....
notced recently that i wasnt getting much across the battery (13.8 at most with lights off at 5000rpm) changed the regulator to a brand new one, still nowhere near 14v

did the resistence checks on the genny: (reg rec disconnected, ignition off)
between cables: a-b = 1.8
b-c = no change on screen (stayed at 1)
a-c = no change

to chassis a = 1.6
b = 1.8
c = no change

from what i can gather after a few searches, this isnt good. didnt manage to check the voltage as the battery was still charging- its been sitting for a while so its on the optimate to keep it healthy...

Hi, yeah that doesn't look good, if by reading 1 you mean open circuit ( no connection) then your stator or the wiring is nakered. It should be completely open circuit to ground on all three wires aswell!!!!
Theres another conection that's in the v of the engine on the right side of the bike that will be worth checking incase its melted but I would think you'll have to take genny cover and fly wheel off and have a look a look at the stator.
Have a read through the manual in the document library and it''ll show you how to do it.

Yes, I think if you take the rotor off and look you`ll find that your stator coils are fried. I always keep new generators in stock if you need one.

13.8v is a fairly good charge rate to a battery.

i get aroudn that.

double check your multimeter connections are good.
