Fairing heat resistance

Post by Triplespeed »

I'm on the cusp of getting my fairings together but the heat resistant reflective matting is missing and I was wondering is it really required?

If so what have you kind folks used as I found some on eBay but yet to explore the internet for something generally automotive

Thanks in advance

I used Thermotek on the carbon bellypan of my Ducati. The 70mm Akra system basically baked the carbon resin, turning it brown.

I've had good luck with heat reflective tape on my CBR. I had to use some when I installed the full Leo Vince system.

I used some reflective heat shield for my oems as they didnt come with foam attached. off ebay, just search "Fairing Exhaust Engine HEAT SHIELD Trackday Race Bike Road Bike Self Adhesive" once you peel the backing and stick it down its virtually unmovable, so get it cut and placed right before sticking down.
