Right my vfr 400 nc30 is nearly ready for the road at last but just need to get some new tyres.after reading many forum's and google im swaying towards bridgestone battlax bt090 front and bt92 rear.as ill be using bike to comute to work when I can which is 70 mile round trip and bt92 lasts longer.as im been told the bt090 dont last to long on rear.Speaking to some people and they say mixing tyres is bad idea but have read quite a few people saying they are a good match on vfr 400. My question is are these still up to date good tyre choice as forum's ive read are a few years old. Cheers

mixing brands like dunlop with bridgestone etc is considered bad practice.

the90/92 combo is tried and tested.

a 90 on the rear will only last about 3000miles and doing highway journeys it will square off in no timde

Unless you try to take a massive bend at super speed in cold weather i think youll struggle to outride these tyres on the street unless your riding like a complete idiot, in which case the traffic will probably kill you before the tyres give way.

Edge grip on them is still really good, just a bit harder in the middle, you can get the specs up on bridgestones website

I've been running a BT090 front and BT016 rear on my NC30. Seems to handle very well IMO. I actually prefer it to running BT90's on both ends. Feels very planted and I don't really think it slows the steering much. The BT016 has tons of side grip but lasts longer in the middle due to the different compounds. Think I've got over 6000 miles on the rear with good tread left. I do have the 520 conversion done though, so I don't have the tire rubbing at all. I just look at the BT92 and cringe at the idea of riding a good pace on one.

Best of luck.
