I spent loads of time cleaning these carbs up about a year ago. The trouble is, I know I had a mix of carbs from different bikes, 1WG, 3TJ and FZR600 and now I'm not sure if they are the right ones.

My engine has 3EN2 rubber manifolds on it and these carbs seem to fit in correctly.

I've looked all over for markings and I think they've worn off the side of either the far right or far left float bowl. I think I can make out 3TJ (with a bit of imagination), but I've brushed it and it's completely flush with the metal so I can't get a clearer indication of what it may have said.

Any help or way of telling would be much appreciated as I don't want to start working on another set if these are usable.

And, if they are 3TJ as I suspect, can I use 3TJ carbs on a 1WG 3EN2 without messing with them?

EDIT: I've just also noticed that the butterflies have a square symbol on them (like a little square in the corner of a bigger square) and the number 130 on each one. If this helps.

These are 3tj carbs..... check the main jet size if you can read the number 3tj is 97.5'sh 600 is 118'sh....

Yes they should run ok, i have run 3en2 carbs on the 3tj1 and they are the same jet setting...

- Does anyone know the best approach in terms of throttle cables when fitting a 3TJ to a 3EN2 bike? - I know I may ultimately need longer ones, due to the flat bars. But to get a pattern from which to order longer ones, I need to find out what fits properly in a standard length first.

As you can see from the images below, I've attached me 3EN2 throttle cables and there is way too much slack.

Should I be using a 3TJ throttle and throttle cables to solve this problem? - then get longer versions of those.

Or am I totally missing something?

- Also, on a standard arrangement, do the throttle cables route through the frame hole nearest the headstock, or the one that's a bit further away, near the ram air tube inlets on the frame.

Finally, Can anyone reading this tell me from the pictures, where the coolant system hose junction & mount attach to? - as I can't find anywhere that looks right for the bracket in the picture.

take a look at beedspeed, they do universal cable parts (inners and outers and all the bits to finish the ends!) to make up your own, used them on the race bike and its pretty good stuff that way once you know the length you can make your own exactly to spec!
