Hi Guys,

So i've installed rick's new stator, charges great....only with the right headlight on, if i plug in the left headlight as well voltage just drops, doesn't even charge, now the left headlight cover rubber is damaged in such a way that the plug doesnt fully clip on, is that what's causing the bike to not charge? or is it another problem?

What happens if you plug in the left and unplug the right?

It seems i have a short circuit somewhere, the bike can't handle both lights being on the at the same time. I may just take it to a workshop, I'm so busy with my internship atm and I really need the bike for commuting :/ I'll get them to do forkseals and clearances and stuff while there at it.

Btw, it turned out to be that the bulbs were incorrect, they were 55W when they're supposed to be 35W. These bulbs were the ones that came with the bike when i got it two years ago, can't believe I got a new reg, battery, and stator, i could've just checked the bulbs in the first place!

I don't believe that the wattage of the bulbs was causing this. Perhaps a knackered bulb though.

It's quite a common converstion to run normal H4's 55/60watt instead of H4R (35/60watt), the UK NC30 bike ran H4 bulbs as standard....

I believe the genny and reg/rec is very similar output specs on all these bikes including NC35..

Both stock Japanese bulbs and H4 bulbs have the same 60 watt highbeam draw.

My bikes have run H4 for many years over thousands of miles without issues.
