Are early NC30 fork stantions the same as later fork

stantions?
Are they interchangeable?
The later stantions seem to have holes (at the bottom) in a different place so are they interchangeable ie an early stantion in one leg and a late stantion in the other? This is with the later fully adjustable cartridge of course.
Thanks

Well one set of forks are preload only, whilst the other forks are pre load and adjustable tops.

Im gonna say yes because I have actually done this.
All you need to do is remove the rubber ring at the bottom of the stantion and then file the 4 tabs down a few mm in order to let the damping internals to fit.
Very easy mod. I posted this mod a few years ago on here but knowone really cared. older forks go for alot less than the later forks.

well not necessaily this site but the older .co.uk i did.
but its very easy to do. take the stantions out look at the bottom of the tubes and you will see a rubber ring which needs to be taken out i used a drill. then with the 4 prongs that are holding the ring in place they need to be filed down a few mm so that the newer internals are able to slide throught and for the ebound spring to seat on top of the prongs.
