Hi guys . I am looking to purchase a new bike, im torn between a vfr400 or a rvf400. If i was to find a nice bike with original fairings and around 15,000 miles on the clock how much would you expect to pay for a good clean example of both bike s.thanks james

You can pick up a fairly tidy, standard Japanese import NC30 for between £1500-2000. Ignore the ebay dreamers, the only NC30's that make top money (£3000+) are original, low mileage UK bikes in the type 1 colour scheme. Tidy NC35's can be found for between £2000-2500, especially at this time of year.

My NC35 goes and rides about the same as my NC30, with small differences in handling and power, but the brakes on the 35 are better.
NC30 fit and finish is a bit better, but on bikes 20 odd years old condition now is most important.
Original bikes are not that common, I would suggest look for the best condition original NC 30/35 you can find regardless of colour scheme, to give you the best chance of getting a good one.
If time and money are not an issue then go for the type/colour you prefer.
I favour early 35 and R/W/B 30.
