Quick question…

Did all NC30's have a torque arm fitted between the swingarm and the rear brake caliper? I'm just building up a 2nd bike and the swingarm has the boss cast for the arm, but it isn't drilled / tapped? Looking at ebay/google, all the pics I can see have torque arms fitted.

Any ideas?

I think thats an NC35 swingarm you have there. The rear brake retaining ring thingy is slightly different and is held to the swingarm on the righthand side on a little sliding retaining arrangment. Less parts = less weight.

Apart from that everthing else is the same I believe (sure someone will correct me if i'm wrong).

The pivot point,Where the swing arm attaches to the frame is different,The NC30 is wider than the 35.

Yep, I bought the swingarm still attached to the frame and I'm pretty sure it's an NC30 frame!

Easy to tell the difference, the 30 arm has a ridge about 10 wide running along the length of the left side, the 35 doesnt

Argh. Looks like I bought a NC30 frame (as indicated by the frame number) with a NC35 swingarm.

Can I use this combo with the appropriate spacers? Don't really want to spend money on something I had already ticked off the list on this project!

I've got a couple nc30 swingers if you want to swap..

It seems like the smaller diameter swingarm bolt on the RVF swinger would be the biggest hurdle. Wider spacers would be easy enough to machine. But I'm curious too if the RVF swinger can be made to fit. The brake mounting is a lot cleaner looking on the RVF.

Are you in New Zealand? If so then I'd be very keen! Otherwise covering the postage both ways would mean it probably isn't worth it, but thank you for the offer.

Yep, that is the bigger issue. I guess you could sleeve the bolt, but the odd thing is the swingarm is currently bolted up to the frame and isn't loose. I need to remove the shock (which is probably holding the arm taught) and take a look.
