generator covers
Can anybody tell me if any other gen covers will fit my dropped 86 1wg

1Wg Genesis ( black painted finish)
Sp 2tk (polished finish)
3EN1/2 (silver painted finish)
are all identical casings barring colour.
3tj and Fzr 600 (3he and 4Jh) casings fit to the 400 crankcase but have an inspection screw in the casing and a slightly different external profile.They also require the internal boss to be removed with a grinder or similar in order to clear the 1Wg generator.
Most owners repair the existing cover with ally welding , J/B weld or similar then reprofile and paint.
The gasket is not mandatory and was ommited on later versions; gasket cement/silicone will suffice.
Severe damage may be refurbished quite economically.

Heavy duty replacements are much cheaper from the US than in the UK if one tends to crash regularly.
