Difference between VFR400 and VFR400RR
Hello,
What exactly is a VFR400 RR?
My newer bike says VFR400RR on the side?
What does the RR imply over a normal NC30? Race replica?
I have seen that the rear shock is different on the RR, it has a integrated 'damper', is yellow instead of red and the bike is alot higher than the normal one.
Is this a factory spec?
Thanks.

Honda didn't make a VFR400RR. Check this thread and the VSource site out to see all the different variants manufactured by Honda:-

What he said ^^
They are all the same - there is no "special" spec.
1989 bikes had damper rod forks and a non remote res shock
1990 onwards had cartridge forks and a remote res shock.

On my v5 it says the nc30 I own is an R3 model. Does the R3 part represent it's a 1993 model or something else?
Bikes don't leak oil, they mark their territory.

I'm pretty sure all NC30's had the R3 suffix: R3K for the 89 model and R3L for the later models. I assume the '3' comes from the NC30 being the third generation of the VFR400 series, after the NC21 and NC24.

Sounds good to me! That and the "No." vs "Type" thing I never have figured out...jim157 wrote:scubasteve85 wrote:I'm pretty sure all NC30's had the R3 suffix: R3K for the 89 model and R3L for the later models. Re: Difference between VFR400 and VFR400RR
Why does my 89 have a 18inch rear wheel with remote res shock, and my 2003 a 17inch rear wheel with no remote shock?
Both rear wheels are centre nut type VFR wheels?
My 2003 also has a different exhaust setup where it goes 4 into 1, not 4 into 2 into 1?
Are these aftermarket mods?
