FZR starter cover?

Post by lukeinorbit »

Hello all! i have a split leaky starter cover... (FZR 400 1WG 1986). I've noticed that the starter covers look very similar on other models even the 600. So do they all fit other engines? I.E. what are my options?

Im refurbing the engine and its one of the things id really like to have done! Many thanks!!

The FZR400 and 600 have common crank cases so a 600 will fit ... Look for the 3HE model, they're slightly more rounded than the later version.

I might have a spare one you can have, will check to see if it's still in the garage.

Need to be careful with mixing 400 & 600 parts, they look the same externally, but may be different internally.
I know that the 3HE and 4JH are internally different as I bought a second hand 3HE for my 4JH and it did not fit.

What I do not know, is how the 1WG/3EN/3HE/3TJ differ, if at all.
