Hi,
I have an RVF400 and was thinking about jacking up the back of the bike a little.

2 things I could do with some advice about . First by jacking it up what will the benefit be I guess as the weight will be more forward on the bike will it speed up the weight transfer ???

2nd how is it done ? I have a std shock at the mo is there an adjustment that can be done on it or do you fit some sort of plate ect.

May get a nitron shock is it the same with them ? and how would you upgrade the front forks and is it all worth the money as they are Showa shocks

Thanks for your help guys.
Richard.

It's a big benefit to these bikes (NC30 & 35), they're much more agile when the rear is raised slightly, with little trade off in straight line stability. They come too low in the rear from the factory for my liking.

RVF's can simply use a shim at the top of the shock (NC30 can't), Rick Oliver sells them his stocklist is in this link: viewtopic.php?f=22&t=26174

Raising the rear moves the center of mass forwards putting more pressure on the front. This makes the tyre squash more and alters the steering geometry so the forks are nearer vertical. The bike will steer quicker as a result.
The way you ask the question kind of says you haven't had the bike so long so I'd suggest riding it a bit more to get a feel for it as standard. Make sure your tyres are properly inflated -check the tyre manufacturers web site. Lastly the bike's suspension should be set up properly and then checked with you sitting on the bike. Find a suspension specialist to do this, there are often adverts in bike magazines.

EC speaks the truth, money spent on setting up the suspension right is probably the best investment you could ever do to your bike. That said every stock NC drags its arse on the floor so raising the rear is a good thing to do regardless.
