After 18 months of being bikeless, I've picked up VFR number 3, codenamed 'Project WTF'
The plan is to get it up and running in 2 weeks and then start tarting and tuning next year.
Unfortuanatly the poor thing has been sat outside my mates for about a year o I've got a bit of work to do! The front end is the worst with the forks having a fair bit of surface rust at the top and the bottom yoke and brake discs sporting a nice ginger look. Should be Fun!

*update*
Well after a week of on and off hard graft I've cleaned up the forks, 1200 wet and dry and a good wrist action have done wonders, I've sand blasted the bottom yolk and am halfway through sorting the calipers. Just a bit of spraying to do then the front end can go back together. I also made these badboys

Nice and shiny ally bars.
I'll put some more phots up as I go

Ah JuniorVFR's old bike!!!

I wasn't sure it'd all fit in the the back of a car!! I'd get those discs swapped for new ones asap if i were you. Not sure how much history you know about it - but it was dropped a while back after a problem with the brakes.

But its a good buy if it was cheap enough!! ;)

FIATS are great, 250 miles to Gosport with that lump in the back no problems.
Luckily I'm a horder and I've got a pair of discs from VFR number 1, they've been lying around in bubble wrap for about 5 years 8-).
Luckily the Carclub on base has got a sandblaster so things like the bottom yolk, rad brackets etc will get cleaned up quite quickly before a bit of hammerite.

its a similar thing to wat my mate does ever day at college (just on a larger scale), because you can never get a parking space near college, and the nearest car park is about 1/2 a mile away down a hill, he has a mini moto mx bike and it lives int he boot of his car, every morning if he dosnt ride his nc30 in to college he parks in the car park, rides the mini moto up the hill and chains it up in the bicycle bay at college.

its great fun watching him max out at about 30 down this hill, we've even managed to get three people on this mini moto and driven it to his car...god were lazy
