Could someone with a OEM type 7 NC30 check the black colour on their bike for me, if you take a close look at the panel in the daylight is there any blue flecks in the black? ie the granite blue metallic used for the black on the type 2 SEED bikes.

AFAIK, Type 5 and Type 7 are Black, and Type 2 and Type 4 are Granite blue metallic. My parts catalogues are lost in a box somewhere at the moment, but I'm sure I consulted them when I put together this page: http://www.vsource.org/VFR-RVF_files/Bvfr400r-mi.htm
