As per title guys, race bike running total loss and battery powered clocks, to fool the ecu is a resistor needed or just hard wire the orange/blue wire to the battery?

Resistor is needed.

I never used one on my nc35 loom, many other racers at the time didn't either, I never heard of any issues.

Just hook the orange/blue cdi wire into 12v +ve.

As cammo says with a rvf you just hard wire it to +12v. You don't need to do anything if you have a ignitech or hrc cdi
