3tj rear caliper
Just got stuck into my latest project and the rear caliper is siezed solid. Think it will be easier/cheaper to replace it rather than strip it and replace the pistons.
Does any one know if the same rear caliper is fitted to any other models or if any other calipers will fit.
Cheers Tim

Re: 3tj rear caliper
Wemoto do a stainless steel piston and seal kit for £40 and a seal kit for £15.
I put the stainless pistons kit in my 3tj and it transformed the rear brake.
I don't know if ant other calipers fit the 3TJ but even if you find something else, it will probably need overhauling before you fit it anyway.
It would certainly be worth ripping your caliper apart to see how bad it is before you spend any money.

Re: 3tj rear caliper
The pistons are rusted in place and really i dont even want to try to strip them. They have been a problem pre the bike standing for 2 years as the disc has worn to 50% of its thickness. I tried to move the piston with a big pair of water pump pliers but the pads bent and still they didnt move! I then tried to pump the pistons out using the pedal with the caliper removed but still no movement.
The front calipers however are fine.

I know a lot of rear calipers look very similar as it's a Brembo.
