Removal of some fork oil?

Hi all, I'm just putting my nc30 back on the road after a 4 year rest period, iv fitted a new batterie & done an oil & filter change & new plugs, she runs perfect, but just before she went into hibernation I had all the suspension re built with full ohlins internals, the only problem is at medium to high speed she seems to skit over the bumps rather than soak them up, iv tryed adding some rebound but it hadent made much difference, iv spoken to a suspension firm & they said try taking 10cc of oil out of each fork, can this be done by simply undoing the fork tops and drawing the oil out with a serynge or do I have to remove the whole fork, any help would be appreciated as it has caused a few hairey moments on fast corners, thanks.
