nc23 upgrades

Post by gromit »

Right can I have some answers to some questions about my mc23 please lads

I have a nc23 triarm that is totally standard, that needs sorting for the track, so far I have a set of nc29 carbs not fitted and a nc29 rear wheel, and a 91 cbr600 front end to go on, I have ordered a tyga nc29 fairing to fit ( that does go on with a few mods) the things I cant find is a race airbox, ecu, plans to re- route the ramair, timing plate to advance or retard, jetting sizes for carbs, rear suspension options, a total loss system, and any performance upgrades, also will a 29 engine fit a 23 frame. quite a few question here lads but better to throw it all in one post instead of loads of seperate ones ;) ;) ;)

well dude...that is alot of questions,i can tell you, that you will need to make a few bits to get this all to work...u also forgot to mention a rear shock upgrade(graeme france)
the rules here alittle different from the uk rules,so our bikes are quite std.
all mines got performance wise is a set of nc29 carbs,nc29 ramair modified to suit the 23 frame, and std(thats right)nc29 headers and a pipe.
To get all that to work well...unless you are good with your hands, i think your about to hand over alot of cash,as really, there are no plans to get a custom type set up like that,to me,it was worth it to follow thru..its not pretty, but goes well.
total loss, just take off the flywheel and wiring..
havnt heard of any other upgrades apart from head porting, and cams(graeme france)
run the gold label cdi
hp isnt everything...knowing how to get round corners faster than the other dude is the go
the 23 is abit of a dark horse...abit of a surprise in the handling department
have fun

cheers for that stimpy, between me and a couple of mates we have CNC machines, lathes, weilders both mig and tig, and a massive workshop, we arent short of ideas and projects to start overhauling the 23, anything that stands out will be posted on here with instructions on how to do it, one thing that we have been playing with today is presurising the float bowls to the same air as the airbox, I done it on my ZX7R and it works a treat, also a 2008 moto gp subframe and seat unit, weighing only 2lb in total to go on the 23, plus a full titanium exhaust system, its alot of work I admit, but what the hell is there to do on the long winter nights,, one thing to look out for is the triple clamp billet top and bottom yolk for the 23 as well desighned to take cbr600 front ends from 91-95, this should be finished for december once we have finished writing the program for the cnc machine, any top upgrades I manage to do will be shared with the guys on the forum, at the end of the day we are all here to help eachother anyway

You must be very well connected

Sounds like you're going to have a busy winter. Make sure you get some before pics up before you go too crazy on the little NC.

not at all mate, just have some very clever friends, with lots of knowledge, but it does help I admit to have the machinery to be able to do it, then its down to trial and error. lol,, looks like the titanium exhaust headers are a no go for now, but the subframe is nearly finished.

what sort of a difference do you get from running nc29 carbs on a 23?
