The small tube may well just be very well stuck. According to the parts diagram, after you have removed the rubber seal and the circlip, the only thing other than the tube in the hole is the o-ring under it.

This does assume this is a 929 Blade m/c you have, and that there's no difference between that and other 5/8" ones....

The NC23 Tri Arm M/C repair kit looks pretty close to me:

Can anyone confirm the NC23 M/C size? I can't seem to find it anywhere.

I don't reckon they are 5/8
I reckon that is an old blade one as they are deffo 5/8.
End of the day you are after a NIssin 5/8 repair kit, not a bike model specific one

Assuming Honda only used one type of 5/8" Nissin m/c at that time? I think the idea of the original post is that the parentage of this m/c is questionable. If Nissin/Honda only made/used one unit of this type for the size stated, then there will only be one type of repair kit. I'd be slightly concerned about ordering a kit without being completely confident that all of them were the same internally. You know what sod's law says!

According to a 23 front on eBay from a breaker, it's 1/2".

Agree with you to a point - but the NIssin m/c has no idea what bike it is on and they are only listed on ebay for specific bikes as people these days are too dumb to ask or know about the bike.
I would say that all 5/8 mc of a certain age on Hondas will all take the same kit from Nissin.

Early (93-98) blade M/C repair kit, same part number as RC30 etc.

As long as the piston is 5/8" in diameter it shouldn't be an issue.
