MCN Honda Concept V4
Anyone seen the new concept that Honda claim to have on the road in 3 years? Looks like an rr8 meets vfr800.
Here
Theres a 2 page spread in todays (15ths) copy.
Basically the interview with one of the Honda execs says that they instead of their usual take on engineering coming first and everythign else going on the backburner they are focussing more on looks with this model.
And he sums up by saying "The V4 is Honda, everyone within Honda wants to do more with this configuration"
So it will be a good looking roadbike witha V4 engine.. now if they'd only make it a 400 and sell it almost exclusivly in Japan we'd have a new bike to play with :D

I'll take one as long as it's got a 360 degree crank and gear driven cams!
Something tells me that they may have to cut a few corners to keep the price reasonable though.
Fingers crossed!

If the MCN article is anything to be believed then it wont be a pure sports bike as the CBR(600/1000)RR has that function in the range.Stickshift wrote:About bloody time honda built a V4 sports bike!!
I want a V4 sports bike dammit.

Re: MCN Honda Concept V4
From what i've read they are adamant that they will be building it, the concept is there already to get the designers to think more about look as there is a lot of focus on apperance now.
They classify that it will be a pure 'road' bike, whatever they mean by that. And it will be sepearate from racing bikes.
And if you have the paper, the concept doesn't look too bad at all when MCN shopped some wheels / forks / calipers etc onto it!
We'll see anyways

Re: MCN Honda Concept V4
It's just a concept at the moment, to get the idea for the overall shape and feel for the bike, things like forks, wheels, engine etc will be designed later on to suit the bike rather than the other way around which is the usual honda path.
