Coolant Change.

Hey,

Another question, just for my peace of mind really.

I did a coolant change today, followed what it said in the Haynes manual. I got to the last stage where you fill the system again and run it with the cap off. It says idle for 2-3mins and blip the throttle to get air out of the system then turn off and top up as required. When I did it however the coolant seems to rise and overflow a out of the rad cap. No space to top up. Is this right or am I missing something.

Thanks, Phil.

Did you let it cool down first?

Have it on the sidestand and let it warm up enough to open the thermostat.

blip the throttle to 5000rpm a few times and turn it off

let it cool and top it up.

rinse any spilled coolant off immediatly.

That would be it! I didn't let it cool down enough. Thanks!
