Can anyone confirm is there a difference in the inlet cams on the front and back heads, and the exhaust cams too.?

I'm not sure I;'ve heard of it - unless you mean some form of manufacturing difference instead of a timing/lift one?

I swapped the ones over out of my standard engine to put into my tuned engine. I'd heard about the manufacturing differences in them, some cams can work better than others.
My standard engine went really well and the tuned one not as well as it should. Hoping this might help a bit.
The tuned one still had the quietening gears and the other didnt. Can't really see them making that much difference.???

Where did you hear this?
Honda have excellent quality control, especially when the NC30 was being made so most parts are directly swappable.
Regarding camshafts, they all have different part numbers but not sure on specific differences.
I thought they are marked anyway F / R and Exh / In
so it shouldnt be hard to match up?

Would they not rotate in opposite directions, therefore the lobes be the opposite way around?

It was chris at Dynopro told me about the cam differences. He said there could be quite a bit of difference.! I had the other cams out anyway so it was easy to change them over and all the valve clearances where still ok.
There was quite a few letters stamped on them and it was a little confusing, I could see the the exhaust cams had ex on them. This is why I'm asking is the any difference between the front and back heads.
Going by the replies on here I think it should be fine. It's all back together but not had it running yet.

I suppose it could be like the rods, cranks and bearings where you have several weight/tolerance codes?
