For the fork legs - I'd use PU Laquer from Halfords, it's for alloy wheels so should be ok.

Thought I'd put a few pictures up for interest ... just to show the bike is actually moving on...

front Stanchions have been polished and today got 4 coats of lacquer...halfords finest ...quite good really

revovating hand controls, not done this before so trial and error..

Image

Image

primer on stripped casing.. also done mastercylinder for front brake

Image

Image

onto black and first coat.

Image

Image

Image

looking ok with a couple of coats of black finish is ok

Image

friendly bluetac on fluid level and around nut threads

I purchased new lettering off ebay for each of the handsets,

Image[/

Current hand controls have faded lettering so I'll see what a mess i make of this right hand before attempting the left.

Image

I also stripped the back end down, taken rear suspension off, dog legs and spring, swinging arm, a bit of corrossion nothing to serious for a 26 year old.. I may sort one day..

Well hopefully have forks back together early next week. Keep you updated if theres any interest..

cheers.

Nice one - you've been busy.

I would have used caliper paint for the master cylinder brake fluid or cleaner is strong stuff
