Hi all, been thinkn about doin flywheel conversion for my nc35,I've found a few k7 flywheels as these were lighter than k5.. But my question is do you have to use a k7 stator or can you use a newer one maybe k8,9 or maybe 10? Cheers chaps

been thinking of doing this myself, the issue I have is finding a genny cover conversion. I know RO does a spanking new Ally cover but i thought there was another cheaper option but cant find it. I think they were a one off run by G force. Did sent them an email but got no response.
the cost of the above stopped me going any further forward for now.

Think I bought the last one from g force some time ago and from what I gathered he wasn't making any more, he is a busy man though so be patient.
As for using parts from a k8,9 etc you may be better off asking on the gsxr website to see if there backwards compatible, there's one called gixer junkies which despite the chavy name is actually pretty good.

The G force was not cheaper than the cover... You could contact Mike Norman on here but I am sure he is a busy busy man I and doubt they will make any more.
I have one and it is great. How much do you want to buy it for..loads?
@OP - you'll want to be asking some gixxer forum about compatibility of the K5/7/9 etc rotors and stators.
I use K5...
EDIT - LOL - go Tony, great minds think alike*
And fools seldom seem to differ...

As mark says it's no cheaper than ricks trick genni cover by the time you've got it here from the states, we'll mine certainly wasn't and if ricks cover was available at the time I would have gone down that route and will the next time I do the conversion.

Fine, if thats the case - will go down the RO cover route. I saw a really old thread which implied it was a lot less but that was at a time when prototype bits were being made.
I didnt expect Mike to answer me if I am honest as I am aware he is busy and I half expected the answer was, all made and sold years ago anyway.
Waiting on a reply from Rick on a lot of other parts at the moment to get my nc35 front end fitted, so it seems everyone is too busy these days, just my luck! I am patient though, seeing as your all reeling off these phrases.... I learnt a good one the hard way - buy in haste, repent at leisure
I look into things a lot more these days!
original op - I know up to K7 has been done and this is what I was looking into too. Let us know how you get on with your conversion.

ie k9 compatible with k8, k7 etc............ie the more modern part compatible with earlier marks of the bike.
