So whilst changing my bars earlier I noticed this...
Is it knackered? Easy fix or new master cylinder?
EDIT: here's a better picture, shows the rubber tear clearer...

Nar, that's not screwed. Does it still work ok? It's just the outer metal edge thats broken off.

When it comes to brakes I would not be taking any chances.
I also happen to have a rebuilt master cylinder for sale...make me an offer.

Pictures are a bit shoddy, sorry, the actual rubber bit has worn and teared, I rode her a couple months ago before I started stripping her down and brakes worked fine but only just noticed the damage...
Haha I like your sales pitch jet black, do agree about not taking chances though... Don't have a clue what the going rate for a master cylinder is so I'll hold fire for now but keep you in mind :)

That is just a dust cover, you can get a repair kit...easy job to do...I would change it though as cosmetically it's not right but then I'm a perfectionist

Be cautious buying rebuild kits, I just tried to fit one bought off a well known auction site. The listing covered my bike but the piston supplied was 1/2" diameter rather than the 14mm that I need.
Didn't realise that it was wrong until after I had dismantled it, damaged the old boot further getting it off, so refitted the old piston with new boot and circlip (old one rusty). Unlikely to be able to get a refund now.

Honda genuine part approx. £45, double that as off flea bay but like the old adage, buy cheap buy twice
