Cleaning carbs NC35

Hey guys,
Is it safe to use Berrrymans B9 Chemdip on the NC35 carb bodies? I don't know if there are any "hidden" seals or plastic parts that could get eaten up, so I thought I'd ask before I made a mess…
Thanks!

Are you stripping them before dipping? I don't think there's anything hidden as such. Once you've taken the big cap off of the body, and removed the diaphragm and piston, all you are left with is metal, with the exception of a tiny gauze fuel filter in the opening for the fuel feed pipe. Having had a quick squizz at this C9 stuff, it sounds bloody lethal, and I'd not like to say if the gauze would be eaten or not. It sounds like they have enough trouble making the tin last long enough that it doesn't dissolve before you need to replace the stuff!
Edit: forgot the float is plastic, and I think a small part of the float valve is rubber. However, I'd also assume that these would be removed for dipping.

After a bit of thinking, I decided to scrap the whole Chemdip idea. That stuff is so brutally caustic I just couldn't bring myself to go through with using it. Instead I ordered up a 2.5 liter Harbor Freight ultrasonic cleaner. The carbs are stripped down to bare metal and from what I've read, water and a bit of Dawn dishwashing detergent should get everything squeaky clean in about 10 min. I'll keep you posted as to how it works!
