Okay, so i got back from the MOT and the fail again.. shorter list. there are also some new things they added on the list which wasnt on the list when it failed the 1st time.



the headlamp aim so too high? i lowered that waaay down after the first fail, and its still too low. but i can see the aim so very low on the ground at night, he said the after market nose cone could affect it, but i dont see how it can... does anyone know if the Suzuka is MOT worthy? because thats what i have. the rest...i can fix no problem the steering, ive fixed. and the brake hose, ive fixed.

I take it the MOT station has the ability to adjust the headlights?

Then why not fix the others like you have and ask them to properly adjust the headlight for you before the test?

well, i would assume so... but apparently im not allowed to watch the process, and by the time he had already printed fail sheet.. however, i get 2 weeks to fix it and i get to retest for free. next time i will give them my screwdriver and tell them to adjust the aim and point out where the adjuster is. then they wil have no reason to fail.

Wow! They really do a thorough check on your bikes in the UK. We don't have MOT's here in the States. Not that MOT's are a bad thing. Seems like a smart idea despite the inconvenience. Here, if your bike falls apart on you while riding it and you get seriously injured, it's on you,, or if you don't have insurance, it's on everyone else. The only time they check is when registering a bike from out of state, and even then they just check the stickers to see if it meets emission standards.

So what happens if someone is killed due to a fault in a vehicle that hits them? Big fat lawsuit I take it?

Only if the person has money. If not, their screwed. A guy can ride a chopper with no front brake if it suits him. As long as you have rubber souls on your shoes to brake I guess. That Easy Rider thing is imbedded in our culture. Some of us here like to dress like a pirate, defy death and ride motorcycles that are very challenging to operate safely. Not me, but I do own a Harley

I haven't heard of someone else getting killed because of a malfunction on someone else's bike, but I'm sure there has to be a few cases.

I should mention cops can and do give "fix it tickets" and I know lots of people who have gotten one (mainly loud exhaust or reflectors).

It is a real tragedy. We no longer have See Saws in playgrounds because of these filthy trail lawyers. Put them on a ship in the middle of the Pacific and sink it. Our country would be 1,000,000,000 times better. They're legal terrorist.

I agree, health and safety over here has gone way over the top too. My Dad's a builder, self employed just him and my younger brother, and the health and safety crap he has to adhere to on some jobs just don't make them worth doing.
