I'm currently looking into getting an NC29 and wondered what other people had to say about the pillion facilities?
I understand they wont be great as they are a sports bikes but are they particularly bad or comparably good as pillion carriers?

well im only 5' and have only been on the back of my bike at standstill, got to say i didnt like it and thought it far too cramped for anything over a short ride. if your passenger has long legs i would say forget it. also the seating area is quite small so no big bums.. there goes any hope at having Shekera as a girlfriend. im sure a skinny youff would manage to hang on. one extra thing, some 29s may have a buggered rear shock so you may bottom out a lot more.

i believe if you look around i posted a pdf from bike magazine that mentions pillion riding on four 400s.

I always have the missus on the back of mine but she is 4' 11" and weighs fuck all so hardly notice she is there haha and she loves it on the back, but have had mates on back and did not like it one bit, the bikes way too small to have anyone more than 9 stone on the back.
When i had my mate on the back all it wanted to do was wheelie and hardly moved until i got it into 10k.

Thanks for the responses, I'm not sure how good any 33BHP bike would be (restricted license) at carrying pillion but thanks guys.

If you're looking to carry pillion regularly and are stuck on A2 license I'd suggest looking at something like a Blandit or Hornet.

whats funny is that i have carried lots of passengers on bikes with a lot less horsepower quite comfortably. I dont know but guess pulling away on a hill two up would be a clutch slipping experience akin to pulling awany in second or third on a straight by yourself. maybe as suggested a bike with a bit more poke low/mid range and a passenger friendly seat. another option may be a super4.

carried all sorts of people on the 29 with no problems at all, just wind the spring to hard.

Its not a quick bike to start with but once its on the move there are no issues.

The pillion always slides on the seat on my NC23, so get one of them grippy things.
