there were some helpful bits of advice here that appear to have disappeared, does anyone know where they have been "deleted" to so i dont have to burden the kind people that took the time to answer again?

I was hoping for a bit input on this also Mang.
This is probably who I would use;they have been going for quite a while but under a different name.

How did you remove your existing ones and why ?

You could try somewhere like Stealth
http://www.stealthproducts.co.uk/ I know they don't have the best rep for their discs but they did my bobbins on the Bimota - they changed the spring washers.
Other than that maybe EBC they do kits for their race discs so maybe they'd have some to fit the Yamaha standard ones
As I said before though it's probaby faster to fit a pair of second hand discs

				sorry missed this question.
I removed them as they were rusty and stuck!
Needed to drill them out .
I have some bobbins that are the correct diameter but too long so need shimming.
I dont really know enough about brakes and bobbins to sort out an educated solution.
What lateral play should these things have????

thanks for the lateral play answer
drilling them out was relatively painless.
The discs i have are well within the wear limit though a bit scored. is it posible to have them skimmed whilst seperated?
