Hi

Welcome to the site.

Firstly if it has a blue cdi and the red light its an 89 version and they came restricted as standard. But it may have been derestricted another way such as the resistor mod, or converting the clocks to mph etc.

The gold label Cdi the full power unit...the previous owner may have used another method to get rid of the speed limiter...but you will be missing out on a slightly better ignition curve..

Ok guys thanks for the replies, it did have a mph converter fitted which i believe removes the restriction taken it off and putting it back to kmph.Looks like ill have to find a gold cdi. Or look into the resistor mod. Also what sort of mileage can these engine handle? Currently on 70k km.

If you can manage to find it ill have it off you mate, also need a clutch cover if anyone has one as the previous owner binned it and gave the part poking through the fairing road rash.

Hmm seen them on the GF website that what sort of improvement are they? Also i don't know weather mines an RRJ or RRK as its a 1988 model but with 110 main jets, restricted blue cdi and the later clocks with the red light as im told are all from the later 1989 RRK model i think the RRJ had 115 main jets as standard didn't it?
