been at it again doing my nut in. Charged the battery replaced the plugs back in nov 12 and the bike started come back to it to do some more work on her battery is fine checked te plugs again turned over ur ur ur ur ur again.
Checked the plugs removed them checked i had a spark I did then tried again ur ur ur ur ur slight chance she would fire I have the choke open and the throttle close still nothing. took out all the plugs again cleaned then check the caps all fine then I check for a spark on the rear 2 nothing. Any idea'S last time i just changed the plugs and she started now nothing again bloody frustrating.

Flooded, plugs dead.

yeah you may have to take plugs out and put the eleclrodes of the plugs in the flame of a cooker or blow torch, to dry them out, get them well hot. They wet up and stop spraking very easily! Give that a try and see wat happens.

Am I the only one that uses iridium plugs?

possibly mate - I use NGKs and enver have tried the Denso IX ones..

Saying that, my bike was laid up for months...froze it's poor arse off and without really doing much I still have the knack to start it.. Just takes practice! They are old bikes and do not, in the main, just fire up on the button

would the bike start on half choke ?? that would possible stop it flooding??

Nope, I use Denso iridium ones. Never managed to foul one, but I'd be slightly concerned about sticking one in a gas hob flame considering how fine the electrode is, although having said that the melting point of iridium is surely rather a long way past that... lol

I'm not sure that there's really an advantage over the less exotic plugs tbh.

Well you just said that you've never fouled one, i'd consider that an advantage judging by the number of threads posted weekly on here by people with knackered plugs.

Mark, providing I put the choke on full my bike starts on the button, it had been laid up for almost a month until today, and it started as soon as I touched the button, it's always fired up well since I brought it though (with iridium plugs in)

Carbs are well balacned and clean / checked on dyno and valve clearances are with in-spec which can give grief starting, but it starts as well as any other 2013 bike does...

No idea on the price difference or availablity but when they need changing I will definalty put the same plugs in it again.

No idea how long theyve already been in, but after 10000k with me they look the same as when i brought it.

Best I can find right now is £11.30 a plug on eBay, which is less than I paid for the last lot, as the best I could find at the time was a whopping £60!! October 2011. Please tell me the recommended interval is two years or the relevant kms, not one? lol
